Orthopaedic technology
1919
At the end of the
First World War, Louis KLEBER SAILHEN founded
the HERNIA INSTITUTE OF LYON, of which
the main
activity was designing, manufacturing and fitting
hernia trusses.
In 1925, the firm moved to Cours
LAFAYETTE, one of Lyon's main
thoroughfares.
1960
Pierre SAILHEN
took over the company and initiated a series of
important technological developments. He trained a
number of French and foreign orthopaedists and began
to diversify the company's activities.
1975
Gérard
and Pascal SAILHEN took over the reins of the
company and under their impetus, the institute
became ORMIHL, "ORthopédie Matériel
Institut Herniaire de Lyon" or the Lyon Orthopaedic
Equipment and Hernia Institute four years later.
1988
ORMIHL moved to
VILLEURBANNE. The company began the industrial
production of a complete range of support belts, splints,
collars and orthopaedic products.
During the same year, contacts where made between
ORMIHL and DANET, a company specialized
in made-to-measure support belts.
1999
The ORMIHL-DANET
Group was born. The two companies brought 80 years
of experience and over two hundred employees
together, prepared for the challenges of the
third millennium.
2000
ORMIHL-DANET Group
creates and develops its activity in the domain of PODIATRY,
providing a fast and effective service. The same year DANET develops a
automated design
for its made-to-measure
support belts.
2003
Takeover of
FANTGAUTHIER
company's activities.
Specialist in
supplying support belts and corsets.
2004
ORMIHL,
DANET
and FANTGAUTHIER amalgamate to become only one
entity
ORMIHL-DANET.
2006
ORMIHL-DANET takes over the
commercial distribution of
LEDOS establishments
(large
specialist in podiatry).
2008
Specialist in orthopaedic
equipment, made-to-measure support belt and
podiatry. ORMIHL DANET group now
distribute JUZO support stockings. Having
taken over JUZO’s business activity in
France since the beginning of 2008, ORMIHL
DANET is developing with an aim to better
suit your needs.
2009
Ormihl-Danet group is a
distributor of ABC Breast Care lingerie and breast
prostheses (May 2009)
